Edward David Allen opened for Tab Benoit at Workplay in Birmingham, AL. A very talented musician who kept surprising me by grabbing another instrument to play. I got the opportunity to speak to him as he appeared next to my booth for Benoit's set. A very nice guy. I like it when musicians remember their roots.

Tab Benoit at Workplay- Birmingham, AL
I had the opportunity to see Tab Benoit play at the venue Workplay. I had never been. The venue, the people. Its a great place to see live music.
Who is Benoit? If you do not know,, you must at least give him a listen if you love the blues.
Tab Benoit (pronounced ben-wah[2]) (born November 17, 1967, Baton Rouge, Louisiana)[1] is an American blues guitarist, musician, and singer.[3] His playing combines a number of blues styles, primarily Delta blues. He plays a Fender Telecaster Thinline electric guitar and writes his own musical compositions. Benoit graduated from Vandebilt Catholic High School in Houma, Louisiana in May 1985. In 2003, he formed "Voice of the Wetlands," an organization promoting awareness of coastal wetlands preservation.
Here are a few favorite shots. I do love stage and house light illumination.
The Bass Player
This guy was cracking me up! Not only can the thump the hell out of his bass, he's got some serious dance moves too. He made the rest of us women standing on the floor feel inadequate. I could tell when I moved from center stage to stage right, that he wasn't used to someone wanting to take photos of him.. so he smiled at me , then proceeded to stick his tongue out and keep thumping.
